Art history is steeped in references from fashion. An interesting correlation to be sure. We will always feature our fashion week productions in spiritual spaces as a nod to the clear inspiration and influence that these types of spaces had on not only fashion, but also all types of art. Sanctuary Fashion Week held its first production of fashion shows at St. John’s Cathedral in DTLA as more or less a necessity.
After owners/producers/designers Kenn & Korrie Gray Hayes of Gray Haze Media launched their first collection, The Fynnton Gray Collection www.thefynntongraycollection.com at Style Fashion Week during NYFW in September of 2018, they wanted to also launch the same collection during fashion week in Los Angeles the following month.
They found the venue, being St. John’s Cathedral, and within less than three weeks, produced an event presenting 6 fashion shows and 6 performances by recording artists. A success despite the lack of pre-production time, Sanctuary Fashion Week went on to grow at a rate of almost 2000% from season one to season two!
Looking forward to the epic upcoming events this summer and then next season with its first appearance during NYFW and then again with its third season in a new, much larger venue, in Los Angeles, Sanctuary Fashion Week is poised to bring its unique flair and way of creating platforms for creatives to whole new levels!
